As a church we are concerned about social and environmental issues
as well as questions of justice, peace and world development.
We believe that our faith should be put into practice in our daily
lives and the world around us.

Our monthly traidcraft stall

The Environment

We have carried out an environmental audit of all that takes place at
our church premises as an expression of our concern for God's creation.
After several adjustments, we have received the status of an eco-congregation.

To celebrate the Millennium, we raised money to plant
over 2000 trees in the Sub Sahara.

Fair Trade

There is a Traidcraft stall after the Sunday service once a month. Fairly
traded tea and coffee are available together with a range of sweets
stationery and other fair trade products. By buying these products, you
can make sure that the producers in the poor countries get a fair price
for their goods.

Members of our congregation are involved in the Stirling Fair Trade Propeller,
a group devoted to the further promotion of Fair Trade products. The group
regularly organises events like promotional product tasting days in the big
supermarkets and is one of the driving forces behind Stirling's move towards
becoming a Fair Trade city.

Direct Link is a charity run by a member of our congregation,
supporting Aids orphans in Kenya.

Start-up

This is an ecumenical project designed to provide emergency, toiletry and other
packs for newly homeless young adults and families in addition to
the existing provision for those who are about to be given
their first tenancy. Based on the donation of goods by members of the
congregations, the project is hugely sucessful.

...and lots more!

Other charities we support include Christian Aid, NCH Action for Children,
Jubilee Scotland (the campaign for cancellation of Third World Debt), Mission
in Britain, Methodist Homes, and CLEM (a women's project in Bolivia).
